GAS REMOVAL

Asked by sumnrob Jul 15, 2015 at 04:58 AM about the 1988 Mazda RX-7 2+2 SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At present time my RX-7 is not drivable, however it is full of gas.

What would be the easiest method of getting the gas out of the car?   I tried running a tube into the tank through the fuel door with very limited success.

remove the fuel pipe on fuel rail that feeds the rail, fit external pipe to holder of choice, switch ignition on, the pump will pump +- 5 to 10 sec, turn of ignition and repeat

Pull the fuel filler hose off the tank and let it drain- then pull the tank and finish emptying it- is it junk or are you gonna keep it and rebuild it? if junk, just wave bye bye to the thing because it is not worth getting gas on your skin-

I'm looking for a 1985 gas tank drain plug anyone knows where I can buy one? Lucien Lsendar@msn.com
