Clattering on acceleration

When accelerating, there's a fluttering noise,
similar to what a diesel sounds like. Lifters, bearing  
pack?  No good ideas

Truck runs good, no constant chattering, only on acceleration, and not consistently. Very mild diesel-powered noise
