Cold air blowing out the Defrost and lower vents

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have the Ford My Touch Screen. When I'm in the a/c section it doesn't matter
if I touch middle vents or legs all my air blows out the defrost and legs section.
My air is cold but just won't change to the middle vents no matter what. I get no
clicking sound anywhere just won't come out of the defrost mode. Any help?

Having the same problem with our 2015 Taurus. I'm getting ready to change the blend door actuator and see if it helps. There is no ticking like they normally would sound like when they go out but it's also the main control that helps work everything in your A/C. I'll let you know what I find out. Starting it now, was just trying to do some more research before I dig into to. Let me know if you have found out anything
Just replaced both blend door actuators behind the glovebox .... Most of the time they tick when they go out anyway.... Wasn't the problem.... Still digging. It's hot AF and my wife is miserable in this thing. She needs those vents to work!
I'm having the sam problem now I'm my 2015 ford edge and don't know what it is some air is blowing out the middle vents by the radio but nothing in the back its mostly coming out of my defrost. Did you figure your put?
No, I have not figured out the problem yet.
It is more than likely the mode door actuator which will be on the left side of the air conditioning system behind the dash. The mode door is actually now what moves from defrost to vent to floor. There are actually 4 actuators in the new dual zone cars. One air inlet actuator behind the glovebox, 2 temperature actuators lh and rh, and one mode door actuator (controls where the air goes I.E. floor, vent, defrost,). The part number for a 13 Ford Taurus is AA5Z- 19E616-A
