coolant leak

Asked by Wyominghorseman Dec 23, 2015 at 05:49 PM about the 1985 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Extended Cab 4WD LB

My 85 f150 is gushing coolant faster than I
can put it in I've checked thermostat housing
hoses and water pump it's leaking from
passenger side my mechanic said it was my
engine block heaters replaced one and
plugged the other off still leaking the only
other thing I can think of is a cracked block

Allow the engine to cool completely. Pour in plain water. If it pours out with no pressure on the system, you should be able to see where the leak is. Can you see if the leak is high or low on the engine?

Its midway on the engine block. it looks like a circular whole. Like some kind of cap or plug.
