1988 ford f150 timing

I have a 1988 f150 slant 6 and it wont turn
over I have replaced the starter and the
engine coil it seems like its not getting fuel
and when I spray starter fluid in it it starts
but dies immediately. Could it be the timing?
and if so what do i need to get or do to fix it
myself

You just answered it your self .... The fuel system .. Check fuses /relays/ filter /pressure regulator /&/or the fuel pump good luck!!

Yeah, if it's not getting fuel, it ain't gonna start. Spraying starting fluid into it is like giving it a sip of gas. Take the fuel filter off and turn the key on to see if any gas comes out. U may even hear the fuel pump, some cars have a slight whining sound for a few seconds when u first turn the key on. W

Sherry if you still have this issue, I would check both fuel pumps(in tank) and if you have an in line fuel pump definitely check that
