I have an 88 f150 4x4 sb with a 4.9 and a mazda md50, I believe. had it rebuilt twice & problems again. want to put a different tranny in, maybe an automatic. any suggestions. I also heard a long time ago that a 351w would bolt right in.

You should be able to use a borg warner 4 or 5 speed up through 1993
