Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can anyone help - I have a 1989 F150 xlt lariet 4.9l stright 6. It runs really well till it warms up. I have replaced the following: new low pressure in tank fuel pump - new fuel filter x3 - new complete distribtor - new alternator - new battery - new plugs - and a new coil. Both Cats are clear as we dug them completely out and then welded them shut (both of them) Air flow at exhaust much improved. - - - This Trk starts and runs really strong when Florida cold. It varies how long it will run but not long then it starts to die as if it is getting fuel starved. Last time it did it I crawled under the trk and high pressure fuel pump is cool to the touch - filter was clear and I could blow through it both ways

Replace you Engine Coolant Temp sensor. See if that cures it. Post back with results.

I will do that and let you know. You are referring to the one mounted in the termostat housing right?
