Question type: General

I have 1982 f250 2 wheel drive 400 engine with 3
speed auto with 410 rear end. . I want to get better
highway speeds. Can I replace with 460 and then
what trany?

1 Answer

I would go with a different rear axle ratio such as 3.73. A 460 with a 4.10 won't gain you any speed and it will be a gas hog. An AODE would give you over drive which would also be good for speed and fuel economy.
