1989 Ford pickup the ignition switch has been ripped out

The switch is way down on the steering column, you will need to unbolt the column from the dash to lower it enough to get to it. If you talking about the key and cylinder, examine the housing where the key cylinder fits if it’s damaged then it would be best to just replace the entire column with a good used one.

A hot wire will power the coil and then the solenoid on the starter till it runs . You don't have any transponder or key chip . Not that complicated .
