cherry red manifold

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replace exhaust manifold, catalytic
converter, intermediate  pipe, Muffler, tailpipe
and water pump. Truck seems to be running ok
but the exhaust manifold does get to cherry red

It could be running too rich or the ignition timing could be way off.

Sounds like you could possibly have a bent or stuck exhaust valve. I would reccomend taking a look at the spark plugs and see if they are burnt up, a whitish color, or fouledmout from to much fuel, they will be covered in black soot from running to rich.
