What is that ground to? Where is It Supposed to Lead? What all Does it Ground out?
I have a ground wire hanging loose from the rear driver side frame rail near the fuel tank
of my 1988 Chevy S10 Standard Cab 4x4 2.8 L V6 and can not find the other end to
reconnect the two ends of the wire! What is that ground to? Where is It Supposed to
Lead? What all Does it Ground out? I have multiple electrical issues and I'm sure this
is where they stem from! My taillights barely light up and do not get any brighter when I
hit the breaks, my turn signals do not flash, and my fuel gauge doesn't work. Ive
changed all bulbs and sockets, new brake switch, new fuses even if they werent
popped and new flasher relays, I'd really like to rerun that ground before continuing to
replace stuff and get back on the road so please anyone with a simuliar issue or
general knowledge of this please help.
there is a ground strap from the body to the fuel filler, then there should be one from body to frame. I would just add a good one from the body in the rear to the frame with the problem you are having. the fuel pump has a ground as well. Find the harness for the tail lights, there will be a ground somewhere there for the lights, i'm not sure where it will be tho
Awesome thank you I'll try that!! I didn't even think bout it going to the body or filler neck. and that makes sense when i bought the truck the bed was off w/o bushings and bolts so I bolted it back and replaced the existing cab bolts bushings with a 3" body lift.
The back tail lights have there own ground that goes to the frame beside the wire harness it's on the back rear frame of the driver's side strisght up
where are all the grounds located on a 88 chevy s10 pickup located and how many are there
2 at least 1) taillight harness near and on rear of frame drivers side 2 filler neck to frame but if your ground on filler neck only goes to body (sheet meta)l you will need to add one that goes to the frame .The filler neck must be ultimately grounded to the frame to prevent arcing during refueling
the taillight harness grd lug is bolted down inside the frame .clean around the threaded hole REALLY good and use a star washer to secure ( metric threads)
