I have a 89 chevy s10 4 cylinder new fuel pump has poor acceleration and loses power when doing 65 gets to about 50 and regains power loses power again after about 5 minutes what do i check first?

Since you've pretty much eliminated the fuel system (you DID REPLACE THE FILTER -RIGHT) now check the catalytic converter for back pressure. Depending on cat-type, it could be fractured and just blocking exhaust flow when it feels like it.
