why does my 1996 geo prezm shake or vibrate when the air conditioning is on

It drives pretty well but it just vibrates loud and shakes a little?
Can you tell me whats wrong?

I am sure if you change your motor mounts and transmission mount all that rattle and shaking will go away.

If it only happens when the air is turned on, you probably should start by looking at the belt, pulleys and belt tensioner. It "could" be an exhaust issue as well, such as a loose heat shield or cracked exhaust manifold that is sucking in air.

Check the Idle Air Control Valve. If it's not working or clogged the idle speed will not be properly increased to compensate for the extra load put on the engine when the AC is turned on.
