I have a 91 Chevy s10, the four wheel drive works but the indicator light shows that four wheel is on even when it is in two wheel drive. Is this just a sensor that needs to get replaced?

If I recall correctly, there is a vacuum line that runs to the transfer case. I seem to recall mine behaving as you describe when the vacuum line was leaking... it's also possible the switch that drives the indicator itself is not working...this would be a electrical switch screwed in the right side of txfr case. Mine's a manual txfr case, automatic may be different?
