2003 will not go into gear!!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Parked car, next morning would not move,any gear.no warning, no noise,,nothing. fliud fuses are ok.( tranny shot ?, stripped converter?) Help!!!

So, it will go into any gear, but not move? Do you use your parking brake? Sounds like the parking brake shoes have locked.

most likely the torque converter; depends on mileage; this car has a record of the torque converter having a thin spline. with very mild driving they will last a little over 100k, normal about 70k. if it must be replaced insist on Dacco, buy it from Dacco or auto zone. All others are oem and will give the same results. Just finished this in my 05 Saturday. You at least were at home I had just left the Dr.s taking my wife to the hospital when mine quit
