If you have the money and ability, I would suggest a non DOD 6.0 and a 6 speed manual or a 4L80E transmission. Whether you go manual or automatic is your preference.

The drive train will have to be upgraded for the "more powerful " engine , The donor car should be kept around till you get things up and running . Hopefully you have the $$ , resources to do it . When you're done you'll be a happy camper

@gen It currently has a 5.0 V8. @Thanks Jeff. @beatupchevy, $$ isn’t a problem. The problem is that I live in Dubai & It’s difficult to find crated American engines here. I have to look online preferably for a plug & play engine. Because expertise her are mainly for European cars. Any website recommendations? Thanks to all

Thanks Ed. The thing is that is my first car, my uncle bought it for me to drive to college. I sold it a few years ago & I just bought it back from the same person. However the state of the engine & gearbox are bad. Your about availability of spares for these cars here. If only I can find somewhere I can buy a crated engine with the gearbox. It would save me a lot of headache.
