03 Ford taurus

Recently my buddy put a ignition lock cylinder in
my car and ever since then mostly every time I go
to start my car I need a jump start cuz it won't start
or turn over and when it is running it sputters and
acts like it wants to die

It may not be reading the transponder chipped key correctly at times and anti-theft kicks in cutting off injectors. There is a token ring in the lock cylinder that needs to be connected well connected. A scan tool may be able to say what part (if any) of the anti-theft system is failing.
