2014 ford escape factory tow kit rear wheels slant in some causing excess
inside tire tread wear. What needs to be done?

Most common is hub assemblies but you should hear some noise in the rear. If those check good then you maybe looking at a suspension rebuild.

Are you overloading your suspension? What does the sticker on your door jam say is the max load you should be carrying?

I would look at the springs and shocks first for wear. Control arms next.
