Question type: Maintenance & Repair

checking the oil shows that it is not contaminated by antifreeze, drips coolant
from front passenger side slowly, looks like it could be coming from water
pump; but... exhaust manifold is pretty sludgy where it bolts to the head.
Otherwise seems to be a great little motor that just keeps on truckin

So, I flushed the cooling system and ran it some more- antifreeze stayed clean, but still overheated. Thinking about it, the cooling fan was not kicking on. Disconnected the fan & tested it- it still worked great. Quick fix; I ran a toggle switch on the dash from an ignition hot to the fan. Now I just switch on my cooling fan manually when the temperature gauge is climbing too high. I'll perform further diagnostic as time allows, but runs great now.
