HELP WITH A ISSUE WITH MY 02 WRX

Hope someone can help I have a 02 WRX and when I go to put the car in drive It will either go into drive slow or not at all..Sometimes I have to rev the gas and it will bang into drive with such force behind it. Can anyone tell me if this is a tranny that is shot or maybe the torque converter is no good...No other problems with shifting..car runs and drives fine otherwise...HELP!!! I love my car and im hoping a tranny flush and new fluid and filter will solve the problem

definately try a fluid change and flush, that will usually take care of it, otherwise it could an issue in the tranny with it pressuring up properly, does it make any difference if you drive the auto manually by puting the shifter into 1, 2, and 3, etc?

Sounds like the same thing I had happen in the 99 forester I owned, in the end I replaced the whole tranny. Try the flush and fluid change, if that dosn't work take it to a transmission shop and have it looked at. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.
