car computer must have codes recorded even if check engine is off...go to auto zone they will do a free dtc scan to your car computer and post codes here
thank you juan ,however we are far beyond that point .we have done that codes indicated throttle control forced shut down replaced...replaced throttle body,8 of 8 coil on plug units and are currently waiting for fan relay as believing maybe a cooling issue ,we noticed upon shut down fans would engage but not before shut down as far as we can tell.?
my best shot...go to a ford dealership and ask for a diagnostics..most probably pcm have never being up-graded or re-programed...most issues with your car are computer based...also check for fuel pressure...clogged fuel filter will cause similar faults...most throttle body replacement need new calibrations added to the pcm...we are guessing here...need a good scanner and someone who knows how to use it...good luck
my 2003 runs for 30 seconds and quits, will start, run and quit. i finally had it towed to a mechanic and was told it was something only ford could fix. had it towed to the ford place and waiting now for them to fix it. i live almost 400 miles away, had to get a ride home because i have things to do and will have to rent a car to get back to mine to bring it home. it only has 35k miles on it. i expected to get more miles out of it before i started having problems with it.
