Exhaust
Asked by Ekottiel Dec 15, 2017 at 11:25 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 2LS Coupe RWD
Question type: Car Customization
So I recently straight piped my 2014 v6 camaro. (I
don’t know anything about cars, engines or exhaust
so forgive me if I sound stupid.)
I like the sound but it can be a little raspy and at
high Rpm’s it kind of sounds absurd. I really want it
to have that super loud rumble and those good
pops when driving but sound more clean, if you will,
than the straight pipes.
Any input, advice or help would be greatly
appreciated!

Use performance mufflers like Magnaflow but you just can't make a V6 sound like a V8.
Mufflers will change the sound also an "H" pipe versus the "X" pipe will take some of the raspyness out of it. Not sure if you have dual exhaust with an "X" pipe. A V-6 with a performance exhaust will NEVER sound good like a V-8 does, NEVER.
Best muffler is Flow Master Pro Flow. Axle back with great tips little over $500.00
Headers are best fo r power and deep sound
Only exhaust that DOES SOUND like a v8 at idle is MRT V1. In order to do this you need to buy abresonated x pipe from Magna Flow which is around $100 amd that completly takes away the rasp on the car. You will install the xpipe where the factory h pipe is located and from there, you will make your pipe 2.5” since v6 camaros run 2.25” pipes. Delete the resonators and stragjt pipe it all the way back the MRT V1 eh uast and your car will sound absoloutly killer. You are welcome.
