Do you mean literally a second or 2, or a minute or two? Can the headlights or horn be operated after this happens? Can the car be re-started after being left to sit for a period of time? Use a test light or voltmeter, check for voltage at the battery just to verify, then check between the negative terminal and every point on every fuse to check for power. Based on the information you've given me, you've either got a loose ground terminal, loose main power somewhere, failing ignition switch or ignition switch relay
First push the emergency fuel shut off button in your trunk! The tow truck driver showed us! If you make a quick turn or swerve the power will shut down. That's one if the reasons law enforcement quit using them! Also before that the plastic manifold had a crack! We replaced it with a metal one. Solved the lack of power problem!
