CVPI Engine/Trans Swap

Asked by VRF Nov 20, 2014 at 09:10 AM about the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: General

Have a 2001 CVPI, want to replace the Engine/Trans with a 2007 CVPI (wrecked from rear).  Are the Engine and Transmission mounts the same ?  Are there kits or mounts that will work ?

As long as both engines are the same 4.6 the 2007 should drop right in 2001. You may have to swap some wiring harnesses but it should be an easy change over.

Yes, both are 4.6. The plan was to move All harnesses from the 2007 (Wrecked) to the 2001 because of Emission requirements.

must use the 2001 items. cant mix 01 and 07 parts. engine will work if bare 07 long block is outfitted with 01 components. oil pans same on both. use either intake but must use 01 tb and tb spacer to intake. use 01 wiring pcm and harnesses. use 01 injectors also
