Chassis and suspension geometry changed in '03 to handle better the OLD '02 seats and some or many trim parts will interchange
If I take an 08 p71 crown vic gas tank out and replace with an 05 tank will that tank work ?

The thing about Ford is generally always been the same thing over the years and most of the models. You may find lots of interchangeable parts if you look back or forward 1 year and 2 years is the limit. You won't find much swappable after the two years forward or back two years. This is if you have the same model and engine type/size. Any fitting parts will be found to work best one year before or one year after! That has been the rule of thumb with most fords I have owned. Anything more you will discover problems with size, mounts, holes lining up, hoses direction, length, etc. Modifications are cleverly done however, emissions and performance depend on the right part (OEM) the right temp part and the exact engine size and model.

When you change the seats, make sure you keep the belts that go with the seats if they are the type that buckle into the seat cushion. I found they have different types of belts and don't work with all the seats so double check on that issue when changing the interior seats for sure!
