Cylinder Head

Asked by Notacop19 Dec 29, 2019 at 01:32 PM about the 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: General

I have a 04 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. One
of the spark plugs blew out of the head  and
damaged the hole beyond repair. My question is
what years of cylinder heads will interchange? The
8th digit of the VIN is a W.

Looked this up, online partsbook, didn't say police interceptor. I guarantee nothing. I also glanced at ebay, 4.6L engine, vin w cylinder head. You didn't say left or right cylinder head? Have you tried a web search? I did see a service bulletin on your problem, it showed a repair kit, but, you said it wasn't repairable. Good luck.

It may also matter on what plant the engine was built at. Triton engines had a lot of variations so make sure you get the right part.

This is a known problem. Try the repair kit. I believe it's cylinder number 7 that blows the spark plug out. Hope that helps! Jim

all engines 2001 up have pi performance improved heads. these will work. some w code 4.6l engines in trucks have 5.4 heads. they are the same

Can I use 2001 crown Victoria police interceptor heads on an 09 crown Victoria police interceptor? I do know that the year up until 03 4.6s liked to really spit up sparkplugs. Or should I try to find 09 heads?
