Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Pull the pan on my transmission and the filter and
this yellow valve or plug thing was laying in the
pan? Any ideas to where it goes or came from?

That is the factory plug that protected contamination before the dip stick tube was installed. You probably still have the original fluid and filter in trans.
