In the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor engine, there is one upstream oxygen sensor located on each exhaust manifold. The vehicle has two exhaust pipes and there is one downstream oxygen sensor located before and one after the catalytic converter on each exhaust pipe. The sensors would dry in a short time and will not do any harm to the engine. You will have to know the code number to find out it is reading oxygen sensors or something else. The check engine light will not go off by itself once the problem with sensors is resolved, the code remains in the computer's memory, the computer needs to be reset to clear the code.
Thank you for the information on the reader it says o2 sensor 1 high oxygen levels do you have any idea what that code mean and the code number is po153
Code P0153 is also related to the sensors, is an indication that the oxygen sensor is not properly regulating the fuel and oxygen levels.
Thank you very much could that do harm to anything in the car due to driving with it like that because that’s my daily I drive to work almost every day
P0152 is a generic code indicating that the O2 sensor for bank 2 sensor 1 is detecting a lack of oxygen in the exhaust stream or a short to power in the sensor circuit. My advise would be to replace the sensors, as far as doing harm to the engine, I have seen people that keep running the car like for ever with the check engine light on, regardless of the code(s). I know one person that placed a piece of black tape over the instrument cluster where the icon appears, so that the light does not distract him when driving at night.
