i have an 2006 crown vic and i want to know if a 2011 crown vic motor and tranny will fit the 06 has a bad tranny and high miles on it so i am looking in to get a low mileage 2011 motor and tanny the 06 is a police interceptor n the 2011 will be as well

Yes. Absolutely. The basic engine and transmission are the same. When we make swaps like this at my work, we often trade out intake and exhaust manifolds as well as keep all of the '06 components on the new motor (basically a long block swap) You can change the oil filter adapter over if you like - the '06 and '11 use different oil filters. We do this swap semi-frequently. Whenever a newer unit gets totaled, we grab the powertrain to keep the others on the road. Differentials too.
