Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Ford Crown Victoria: When driving, I'll notice the loss of power and the
RPM shoot up to 4. I took it to 2 different mechanics, they said nothing is
wrong. So I go about my business but then it happens again. While driving it
feels like it's missing a beat and the RPM shoots up past 4. Then it will kick in
back to normal. What can I do to fix it?

Sounds like your transmission is slipping. Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

Yes. I had the transmission filter and fluid changed out with the first mechanic.

Then you may have a transmission or torque converter problem. How many miles on it and was it a transmission shop?
