How can I tell if my p71 crown vic has a posi?

Look for a tag on the differential or jack up the rear and rotate one tire. If it has posi-track both tires will rotate in the same direction. Being a police cruise it should be limited slip.

Much obliged. Kinda thought all P71's came with a limited slip but heard tell some of them were open diffs.

Ive owned many p71s.. Depending on buget or rquest from agencies or Departments. I know my 98 cvpi has the button to engage the track lok. As well as my 01 both running 3.55 lockers. My 05 cvpi with 80k has x5 no button but clutch packs for the rear end.
