2014 versa wont shift gears unless i pop into neutral and into drive again

why rpm goes too high without shifting unless I decelerate and accelerate again
or if I pop into neutral and into drive?

2014 its a nissan versa with a cvt transmission.

That doesn’t sound good, CVTs should have been only used in scooters and snowmobiles., golf carts, etc. Get it to a good transmission shop or the dealership to have it checked, but I’m afraid that the transmission is on its out.

You should go to a good tranny shop and not drive it till it's taken care of or you figure it out yourself with more research .
