how do i unlock radio ? how do i get code ?

it is a delphi radio old radio went bad bought a radio of the same for my captiva             
.it is in the lock mode how do i unlock this radio . i was qouted 175.00 from a        
dealership this is rediculous.there has got to be away to do this without a high
dollar amount being payed.

Only a shop with a dealer quality scanner can unlock the radio, very few shops can afford that equipment. So your kinda stuck with the dealership.

You need the security code. When the radio loses power for any reason it automatically locks unless the feature is turned off before you disconnect power for the radio. You can try a local stereo shop but unfortunately you're probably going back to the Dealer! Jim
