About the captiva

One of the industry's most-guarded secrets: I'm a Chevy dealer and I can't get the information! I've never even seen the basic LS, as the rental companies (the Captiva was a fleet-only vehicle, never offered to the general public for sale) always seemed to order the LT and LTZ. And there ain't much difference between those two trim levels. Mechanically, they're all the same: 2.4 4-cylinder, automatic, front-wheel drive. The differences between the LS, the LT and LTZ is in standard and optional equipment only.
Could it be a rental car has a more heavy duty interior to prevent wear from abnormal use?

That would be nice, but the only vehicles that get heavy-duty interiors are those built for police car/ taxicab use. The rental car companies get the same exact vehicles that the dealers get for normal retail sale.
