Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an issue with my car's back left brake light that seems to be beyond
my level of education to address.
The back left brake light turns on- like when you hit the lock button on your
key fob, or in any of those other situations where the light stays on but in a
relatively dim state. Upon pressing on the brakes though, only the right brake
light will light up. I changed the bulb & the fuse that goes to the bulb with no
luck.

Are you replacing with the correct bulb? 3157, which is a duel filament. One filament lights up when you have the lights on, the other turns on when you hit the brakes.
