2014 Ford Foucs
what happens when you put the key in the ignition of a 2014 ford focus but don't turn it? I did this and the battery went dead. Was setting in a rest area and went to sleep. When I woke up the car would not start, and the battery was dead.

Im thinking the key in ignitioin did not kill the battery unless it was switched on,have the battery load tested, may be bad cell in it,if battery is good have the alternator checked.
Just had a oil change at the dealership and they gave the battery a clear bill of health. Nothing was on, I was just wondering where the draw to discharge the battery came from? The battery is 3 years old so I just replaced it and had the charging system checked and it came up good. I may have to do a sleep over again I don't want this to happen again. I may just pull the keys out when I do it again. I do a lot of driving.
If you had battery and alternator checked and know they are ok,would pull key just to know it was not issue, and make sure no lights are on,and don,t have you foot on the brake when you go to sleep,,,lol Joke,
