Is the Fiat 500L a good car?

I want to purchase one today but i see so many
reviews about how the engine starts smoking and
people getting new engines constantly. I'm scared
about going through that. I would be purchasing an
automatic Fiat 500L. Help please

Good? Compared to what? A Yugo maybe. Not so good compared to everything else.

Don't pay attention to those two guys above- probably never driven one much less owned one. 65,000 miles on our 2014 500L (the one with the dreaded DDCT- that transmission has been excellent for us, you just have to treat it right, per the owners manual). and no problems to speak of. It's not for everyone, but if a car this size can fit your needs, it's great. Really love it.
