2014 Chevy sonic

Asked by GuruHLJJN Jul 19, 2019 at 08:14 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LS Hatchback FWD

Question type: General

Every time I fill up on fuel, my car wants to stall
out. I can get it to start by pumping the gas
consistently and putting it in drive, then keep my
foot on the gas at each intersection for a couple
miles without stalling again. If I don't leave my foot
on the gas for the first couple miles, it will die
again. Any ideas what is causing this?? It's only
when I put gas in, no other time

Sounds like the vapor purge solenoid might be stuck in the open position. This will allow fuel fumes into the engine from the carbon canister causing an over rich fuel mixture. Is the check engine light on?
