Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a new battery for this car and replaced the belt
about a week ago. Now when I go out to start the car it
acts likes the battery is dead. I've had the altinator
checked several times. I've switched batteries several
times but I keep having the same issue. If I jump it and let
it run for a little while then I can turn it off and it will start
again. Once started the car runs just fine. When I speed
up or get to higher Rpms the battery light comes on. Any
ideas??

Alternator might be putting out. But might be week. Need to put a good load on battery with tester and see what alternator is showing.

Agree with sixpac, and all so do a perisitc discharge check on battery, you may have a short eating the battery.

If you have a ohm meter/12 volt, you start by hooking meter to battery,if there is a draw you will see it drop below the 12 volt range, start by removing one fuse at a time until meter jumps back up,which ever fuse you removed that stops the draw ,will be your issue.
