Dodge Journey Start issues?

My journey will only start randomly and the
temperature seems to have a play. It does it when
it's below 25F. When you push the start button
everything comes on but doesn't try to start. If I
open the door and shut it and try again eventually it
starts. When it does start it doesn't hesitate at all.
Sometimes I can do that once but other times like
today it took a hour and a half. The battery is good
and the brake pedal isn't hard so it's not the
security feature. It seems like a connection issue
of some kind. I'm in desperate need of help if
anyone knows how to fix this.
