P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor
Asked by Sjleach Jun 08, 2014 at 07:01 PM about the 2002 Ford Escort 4 Dr STD Sedan
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 Escort SE with a 2.0 split port engine. The Check Engine Light came on
but the car runs fine. I replaced the camshaft position sensor and checked all the wiring.
The light came back on after 5 minutes and the car still runs fine. Is there another check
I can do or another sensor that could be tripping the camshaft position sensor code?
Thanks in advance!

Is that connected to distributor? I had the same code on my 1999 accord turned out it wasn't the cable it was the distributor. Bought a new one and code was gone
