Would not be a good idea, could really throw something off with the computer, and what do you mean plug #10, is it a 12 cylinder?
It's a V 10 what is the worst that could happen I'm in the middle of the mountains super cold and have my kids in the car
Well that is different, the kids & you are most important. I would think 9 cylinders can get you to some help. It is just going to sound like hell, limp it along, I can't see it causing any major damage. Threads for the spark plug probably will need repair anyway.
Do you have the spark plug? Did you try to put it back in finger tight?
Yes we try that but is not tightening I'm just going to drive to the next town and stay there. Thank you very much
Ok great, I would plug in the spark plug into the wire and lay it down on top of the motor by something metal so the charge from the coil has somewhere to go.
Does anybody know were you are? Should call someone.
And PLEASE post that you made it somewhere, I will leave my computer on this sight, in-case you need any more assistance.
This is known issue with Triton V10's; http://www.fordproblems.com/trends/triton-engine/spark-plug-ejection.shtml - your 02 Excursion is among those affected. I know they put out a TSB but don't think it became a recall issue (it should have). Solutions to the problem are in the link above.
Drive it, won't hurt a thing. Just makes lots of noise.
Looked at spelling, that was suppose to be "are you and the KIDS ok?"
