Car won't start

Asked by Kgriffin1 Nov 06, 2016 at 11:10 AM about the 2004 GMC Envoy 4 Dr SLE SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son let my car run out of gas and it started
skipping, he didn't tell me it ran out of gas so I
thought it was the plugs. I changed all the plugs but
when I went to crank it it ran for 5 seconds then
died. It cranks fine but won't start, any
suggestions?

First try replacing fuel filter running a vehicle until it runs out of gas can pickup junk that settles on bottom of tank and clog up the fuel filter and possibly can clog up sock filter that is attached the the fuel pump inside of the gas tank.
