Cleaning Leather Seats
Asked by FordOwner4653 Jun 22, 2017 at 03:11 PM about the 2014 Toyota Camry XLE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I purchased a used 2014.5 Toyota Camry XLE. It has two tone gray/cream
leather seats. Whoever owned it before didn't clean them or had dirt on his
clothing, so parts of the driver's seat are dirty. I had the car professionally
detailed, but all of the dirt didn't come out. Is there something that can be
used besides the OTC cleaning for leather seats, such as, dawn + water +
hard work?

Don't use soap on leather. Use a good leather cleaner and then a conditioner. Hard work is not optional ;)

There is no way for me to mark this as a follow up, but I assume the detailer used a good leather cleaner, but what do you recommend?
I like Meguiar's products but Connolly products may be the best. There used to be a product called Liquid Leather that I loved but I don't think it is still available.

I don't believe the seats are "genuine" leather, but more like "pleather." Would the same products be good on it? I think genuine leather seats are for more high end cars.
