Key fob problem

How can you tell what is wrong. My key fob was working fine and then it wasn’t could it be just a battery for the key fob, does it need replacing or is it something more. The key did not work in the lock either.

My fob had a tactile pushbutton go bad and stay "pushed in" probably due to pressing too hard on the button all the time, anyway I fixed it by replacing the pushbutton with a new one you can get them for almost nothing off amazon. it is a 3x3 mm button. It also did not have the "feel" of the bump when being pressed. I can do it for you if you contact me.
