Toyota Camry wheel change

I have a 2014 Camry with 17 inch wheels and low profile tires.  My wife hates
them, and would like to replace them with smaller wheels that can use regular
tires.  The dealership told her that making that change would affect sensors,
etc and be a big deal.  Does that sound right?  Can anyone shed light on that
topic?

Hey there. Changing factory tire size does affect speedometer ratings. Go on tiresize.com & put in your original size & put in the size you want to change to & it will show how your speedo will be effected at different speeds. Hope this helps!

It would only effect the sensors if you don’t adjust the tire size proportionately to maintain the overall tire diameter. The main concern about going to a smaller diameter wheel would be clearing the brake calipers.
