I had my truck serviced. The radiator fluid was low. They told me I have a leak. I have never seen spots where it might be leaking and the engine doesn't run hot. How do I know if they are right?

I have 63,500 miles on my truck. I do not drive it hard. The engine has never
been overheated. They told me because my radiator fluid was low that I have a
radiator leak. How do I know if this is true?

I didn't really want to spend $1200 to replace the radiator tank which is what the dealership quoted. It seems like an outrageous price. How difficult is it to check and add fluid?
You can save a lot of money by going to a independent shop. $1,200 for a radiator is too much. Checking and adding coolant is easy. Read your owners manual.
Just the radiator is probably only a couple hundred bucks if you can do it yourself.
If it uses coolant there is a leak or it is going out of the tailpipe. The cause of the leak needs to be found. Pressure testing the cooling system may help find it.
