2002 Ford Mustang idle problem

Well the car drives good but when I start the car
back up idle wants go up an down on below 1 it
does this certain times when I go get gas it have a
hard time starting over it haves cut off on me few
times what can this be please help?

Could be a dirty Throttle body or a bad IAC Valve

You can clean your MAF sensor and use MAF sensor Cleaner. But I'd also clean the Idle air control valve and throttle body with brake cleaner. Sometimes the idle air control needs to be replaced if surging at idle still occurs.
