My 2004 Tacoma fast idle at start up seems to last too long compared to other vehicles I owned. Is this normal?

Asked by Sween Oct 04, 2014 at 11:39 AM about the 2014 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab SB V6 4WD

Question type: General

Fast idle at start up is about 1500. Doesn't go below 1200 until I drive for a while.

any codes? see if you can locate the throttle position sensor. unplug it while the engine is idling too high. if the engine goes back to normal, its probably that. could also be idle air control.. should have codes for these though. have autozone or someone read the codes.
