Headlights randomly go off for a few seconds while driving
Asked by GuruGKVHV Aug 26, 2020 at 11:52 AM about the 2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My headlights used to go out for a few seconds when I engaged my turn
signal. Now the problem is getting worse and they just randomly go off and
on while driving (not engaging the turn signal). It's a 2014 Hyundai Sonata.
Also, I believe the tail lights sometimes join in on this (i was following my car
when someone else was driving once and it went crazy). Anyone else have
this problem and if so, did you get a diagnosis on it?

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and it's doing the exact same thing. It first stayed with flickering of my inside lights on my entire instrument panel. Then it started with my lights as well (all of them). It started i noticed after using my passenger side turn signal... now it's getting insane causing all of my lights inside and out with the exception of the dome lights to flicker on and off completely unprovoked. I don't know what's causing it or how to fix it
I wish Hyundai would do a recall on it but probably not happening. My problem is to a point that I can’t drive my car at night so I’m going to try to take it to the shop to get it figured out. I will let you know what I find out.

we have 3/ 2014 sonatas, same thing... my daughter drives one she said if you take it off automatic it doesnt happen. I called service , they wanna charge me 185 just to look. ridiculous !
The issue is that Hyundai seems to want to wait until someone has an accident, because the headlights blink off occasionally when you put the turn signal on. It’s dangerous, and the company is idiot for not addressing the issue
